How to download a TikTok photo slideshow

TikTok photo posts are not videos, which is why so many downloaders return a single frame or nothing at all. Each slide is a separate image and the music is a separate audio track. ClipKoala lists all of them, so you can take one slide, the sound, or the whole set as a ZIP.

Updated · 4 steps · about a minute

  1. Copy the slideshow link

Tap Share on the photo post and choose Copy link, exactly as you would for a video. Short vm.tiktok.com links work too, and so do links copied from the web.

  2. Paste it into the TikTok downloader

ClipKoala detects that the post is a slideshow rather than a video and lists every slide separately, each at the resolution it was uploaded in, along with the soundtrack.

  3. Take one slide or the whole set

Save individual slides from their own rows, or use Download all as ZIP to get every image in one file named after the post. A nine-slide carousel becomes one download rather than nine.

  4. Grab the sound separately if you want it

The soundtrack appears as its own MP3 option. It is a separate file from the images, because a slideshow has no single video file to embed it in.

Good to know

  • The images are the originals, not the downscaled versions a screenshot would give you
  • There is no automatic merge into one video yet; the slides and the sound arrive separately
  • Private and friends-only photo posts cannot be fetched, exactly like private videos

FAQ

Common questions

Why do most downloaders fail on TikTok photo posts?

A slideshow has no video file. It is a set of images plus an audio track, so a tool that looks for a video URL finds nothing. It has to be handled as a different kind of post.

Can I get the slideshow as a single video?

Not yet. The slides download as separate images and the music as a separate MP3. Merging them into one MP4 is on the list, and it is not pretended to work in the meantime.

Do the images keep their full resolution?

Yes. Each slide downloads at the resolution it was uploaded in, rather than the compressed preview you would get from a screenshot.

Is there a watermark on the images?

No. The images are fetched as uploaded, without TikTok's export watermark.
